CWS ~ Autumn Mixed Dozen Pack 2024

We've made a mixed dozen to help cruise along this autumn season, starting with vibrant, slightly pinkish Pinot sparkling from the Adelaide Hills, pair this with wild figs and a local Goat's cheese. The next wine is a lesson in focus and minerality... definitely one to dwell on. A leap into something more textural now - with a youthful Muscadet from the Loire Valley, showcasing crystalline minerality, wrapped in delicate stone fruits. Keen for something a little different? Try a local Vermentino with subtle skin contact and gentle lees work or try something a little more traditional, an Alsatian-styled New Zealand pinot gris from a wine industry legend. Roast chicken in the oven? Try pairing it with a Yarra Valley chardonnay brimming with delicate stone fruit, a little citrus, and fine spicy oak. Then there’s a bottle that’s not quite white, not quite red - ideal for when you’re not quite sure what you want. We’ve included a City Wine Shop staff favourite rosé, full of life, and a perfect example of how top-tier Aussie rosé can get. 

Now for the reds on offer - a Tassie pinot noir that's unbelievable value for money, and a grenache that walks the tightrope of power and the smooth soft red fruit.  These versatile reds work for all types of weather, serve chilled, or not. Eventually, the days will be shorter, and the trees will look bare; all you’ll want to do is curl up indoors and drink moreish reds like a local cabernet and merlot blend or a Rhône inspired shiraz from Mclaren Vale. 

Autumn, what’s not to love? The best seasonal veg, crunchy leaves underfoot, and golden hues - pick up a dozen and embrace it!
