2019 Accornero 'Campomoro' Barbera

In Piedmont, the Langhe often takes centre stage, however following the Tanaro River out to the east you find the regions of Monferrato, equally as important but significantly more unknown. While Nebbiolo is still the undisputed king in Monferrato, Barbera has found a solid foothold in the region, with some zones such as Nizza creating “Barolo level Barbera”.

In the Northern part of Monferrato you find the Accornero estate, a fifth-generation house lead by Ermanno Accornero, who’s family Domaine is nestled in the hills of Vignale Monferrato, the mountain air imparting freshness to their wines. The Campomoro Barbera is one of their more approachable drops, a blend from all the plots on their estate, plush, juicy, and vinous with a bouquet of berry aroma and a clean herbaceous edge.
