2022 La Contralta 'L'Ora Grande' Cannonau di Sardegna

L'ora Grande, translates to the great hour, a name inspired by the poem "L'ora Nostra" by Italian poet Umberto Saba. It is described as the sacred, beautiful, and rare time just before evening, a moment of maturity, peace, or profound reflection.

This is the winery’s expression of Cannonau, more commonly known locally as Grenache. The fruit is sourced from a one-hectare vineyard with a northeast-facing aspect. After harvest, the grapes are fully destemmed and fermented on skins in stainless steel for 20 days. The wine then undergoes full malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels over eight months, followed by a further month of bottle ageing prior to release.
