2024 Dhillon ‘Accidental Red’

An accidental blend created in 2022 now made with a purpose. Dhillon is the side project of iconic Victorian producer Michael Dhillon of Bindi wines. Merlot berries are fermented with pressed out shiraz juice, and 5% malbec fruit. Next is quick wild yeast fermentation, then into barrel for six months maturation. It’s red cherry fruity, and gently juicy with spice and earth giving added layers. The palate is supple in a mid-weight pinot-like way with silky, fine, pippy tannins on the lingering finish. Could be enjoyed chilled.
