2023 Chalari Manjimup Pinot Noir

A diamond in the rough, Alexi Christidis named his label Chalari, meaning ‘relaxed’ in Greek, as part homage to his father and part mission statement for making unforced wines unbound by convention. The fruit for this wine is from Manjimup in Western Australia, home to Australia's first mainland truffles, and the famous 'Pink Lady' apple, thankfully a great place for Pinot Noir, this is full of primed red plum fruit and cherry, smacks of the exotic with glimmers of marzipan and bright pomegranate fruit.
