2022 Velenosi Lacrima di Morro d’Alba

Lacrima di Morro is a rare grape variety almost exclusively found near the town of Morro d’Alba in the Mache region of central Italy. Translating to ‘Tears of Morro d’Alba’, this wine has a unique flavour, combining elements from other varieties. The flavour suggests Barbera, with its ripe purple fruits of plums and blackcurrant, its structure is firm and slightly tannic like Sangiovese and there’s also this lovely dusty rose petal aroma, almost candy-like, akin to Nebbiolo.
