2022 Forest Hill Highbury Fields Chardonnay

When we first tasted this in the City Wine Shop, we were taken a back by quality and prowess of this wine, especially within the context of the price. Forest Hill has a long, rich history in the Great Southern region, planting the first cool-climate vineyard in the state almost 50 years ago. This chardonnay is produced from vines planted in 2003 and 1985. Gin Gin dominant but includes parcels of the Burgundian Clones, its decisive in style, the structure of palate being remarkably clear, even after the first sip, there’s white peach, and a racy, almost flinty aroma. The palate is textured and complex, while the wines natural acidity leads to a long, clean finish.
