2022 Els Vinyerons ‘LLuerna Blanco’ Xarel-lo

A project started by Amós and Alex, self-described ‘winegrowers, winemakers, and wine lovers’ and this checks out, this Xarel-lo is a great example of hands-off winemaking done right. The grapes are harvested by hand and no sulphur added at any time, in order to preserve the honesty of the soil and deliver the purest form of Catalan’s greatest white variety. 90% of the wine is aged for 4 months in stainless steel tanks and the remaining 10% from the previous year with 12 months in French oak barrels. Delightfully textural, with a racy salinity, that carries through to warm notes of stone fruit with a pleasant nuttiness.
