2021 Herdade do Rocim 'Mariana' Tinto

Herdade do Rocim is the project of Catarina Vieira and Pedro Ribeiro. They have a 120-hectare estate with 70 hectares of vineyards and another 10 of olive trees. Pedro worked in port production in the Douro after graduating as a winemaker and then worked in Australia for two years at Hardy’s Tintara. This red blend is produced with Touriga Nacional 40%, Aragonez 30%, Alicante Bouschet 20%, and Trincadeira 10% The fruit is fermented in small stainless-steel tanks, then aged in 6 months French Oak. There's a delicious glycerol weight to the palate, slippery black cherry coated in spice. This wine flows effortlessly, with soft fruit richness, and a natural succession of delicate leather-tannin, swinging into a fresh, acid-coiled finish.
