2019 Suertes del Marques '7 Fuentes'

A tiny island group off the coast of Morocco, vineyards planted on 65° slopes on the side of a volcano, vines trained to be braided together or dug into pits in the ground where they’re individually sheltered from the battering Atlantic winds… the Canary Islands represent so many of the true extremes of winemaking, and it’s one of the most individual growing regions on the planet. The team at Suertes del Marques keep their vineyards wild and untreated on Tenerife, foot-stomping most of their grapes and adding almost nothing to what’s bottled – a pure expression of the varietals native to the region. The 7 Fuentes is their “village” wine, mostly Listán Negro with a touch of Tintilla, and it’s oh so fresh and vibrant, floral and light-fruit driven in equal measure, silky and slightly smoky.
