2018 Howard Park Leston Cabernet Sauvignon

Vintages like 2018 in Margaret river don't come often, and it doesn't get too much better for cabernet sauvignon too - it's widely cited as the best of the 2010s for it. The deft touch of the team at Howard Park, who source this wine from their iconic Leston vineyard, has resulted in a gorgeous wine of medium body, explosive dark berries, ripe plum, gentle cedar and a graphite backbone. We reckon it'll look at its best next to some juicy, herby roast lamb, but never underestimate a more restrained Cab Sauv with cheese - it'll sing alongside aged gouda or a gentle, nutty Ossau-Iraty.
