2017 Doyard Clos de L'Abbaye

We are very proud to announce the return of Champagne Doyard to our shores. For over a decade City Wine Shop has been the sole importer of Champagne Doyard and it’s become an absolute staple for us and a great pleasure to share it with you all. Based in and around the village of Vertus within the Côte des Blancs. The Doyard family have been growing grapes for 12 generations and have been making wine under the Doyard label for 4. The family grow and handle mostly Chardonnay grapes with a small amount of Pinot Noir with average vine age being 40 years. 

100% Chardonnay from Vertus 1er Cru Clos de L'Abbaye, 0.5ha of biodynamically farmed vines planted in 1956. Barrel fermented and matured (old burgundy barrels). No MLF. 48 months on lees. 2g/l dosage.
