The time for our favourite all red mixed dozen is upon us. To combat the doom and gloom of the coldest months - we’ve put together a dozen reds showcasing styles pretty, fine tuned, and elegant, all the way to rich, dark and robust. Purposefully selected to drink at your leisure - In front of the fire or round the dinner table with friends ~ punchy, aromatic pinot if you're feeling something lighter to start. With the dark winter nights approaching, settle up for some earthy-dark fruited primitivo from Puglia, or take the opposite route - cosy up on the couch accompanied by Austrian twins Blaufrankisch and Zweigelt. Feeling hungry now? A glass of plush yet structured grenache may suit or even a medium weighted Barossa shiraz. On the flip side Clare Valley shiraz and Heathcote syrah bring a vibrant, spicy fruited light to the evening. A warm rounded blend of shiraz, cabernet and merlot from WA might be just the ticket to lead down a path of Bordeaux styled wines. A cabernet blend from Beechworth partnered with a sumptuously concentrated Cahors Malbec. Let's cap things off with a straight South Australian cabernet sauvignon.
