2022 MDI Skin Ed XI Friulano

Friulano, a noble varietal of Italy’s northern region of Friuli. Home of Ponca soils, hearty rustic soups and stews, and importantly some of the best skin contact wines in the world. The likes of Radikon, Gravner, and Il Carpino put these wine styles on the map. We’re excited to show you MDI’s homage to these great wines.

Denis Pasut planted his Mildura vineyard in the 1990s, his expression sees Friulano fermented on skins for 11 days. Pleasantly textural, much less assertive than what we can expect from the likes of Radikon, floral tones are abundant and the main focus, framed by delicate tannins from the skin contact.
