2023 Forest Hill ‘Highbury’ Chardonnay

A resounding staff favourite here at the City Wine Shop, the fruit is sourced from Mount Barker’s Highbury Fields vineyard. Planted in 2003 and Block 9 was planted in 1985. Gin Gin is dominant but includes parcels of the Burgundian Clones 76, 95, and 96.

The Burgundian clones lend a clearly defined purity to the palate, delicate notes of white stone fruit, citrus pith, and a soft nutty complexity. Lemon-roast chicken with Mediterranean couscous is the stand-in food pairing here.
