2021 Bloody Hill Villages Pinot Noir
From their close-planted Yarra Valley vineyard, evocatively named 'Bloody Hill' due its maddening steep slopes, Timo and his son carve out some astounding Pinot Noirs made with low levels of new oak and minimal additions.
It's a touch funky, softer, more fruit-driven style of Pinot Noir. Excellent value and made in only small quantities.
"This is fine boned but quite assertive, structured and tannin-hewn with autumnal characters, dried leaves, porcini, game meat, in darker, brambly berries. It’s sinewy and long, a feast for the senses and really, straight up, delicious. Moreish red, vibrant and delightful. Ripper drink for the bucks and punching above its pay grade for seriousness." - Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)
