2023 Blood Moon Moonlight Fiano

Blood Moon Wines is the brainchild of Victorian-based guitarist Matt Aulich, who started his winemaking career in 2014. Matt describes his approach as “less-is-more”, attempting to create wines that are expressive of time and place using fruit from many trusted friends and growers all throughout northern, western, and southern Victoria.

The Moonrise Fiano / Vermentino is sourced from the viticulture masters, the Chalmers family, specifically the Merbein site in the Murray Darling. The use of new oak (10%!) and wild barrel ferment creates a savoury, textural wine with notes of green melon, pear, and jasmine. A waxy finish with lively acid keeps things easy.
