2018 Weingut Dorli Muhr, Carnuntum

Fragrant, supple and silky Blaufränkisch with an addition of Syrah (about 30%). Baked cherry, violets, pepper and some savoury herbal aromas waft from the glass. You’re instantly hit with the bright acid, silky texture and a lovely minerality on the back palate with fine, balanced tannin. The village of Carnuntum is within the region of Lower Austria, sitting just east of Vienna toward the Slovakian border. Dorli Muhr is a  pioneering vigneron of the region, leasing some of her vineyards and owning the others, tirelessly converting them all to organics and biodynamics - and in some cases nursing them back to good health!
