2021 Sette Bianco

We poured this by the glass at the City Wine Shop, very much a staff favorite, with smiles all round. This is from a splendid vineyard in Nizza, Monferrato, with five and a half hectares of vines aged between 20 and 75 years old.  

If you’re in need of a wine that can pair with whatever main meal you might throw at it, from light to dark meats, barbecues to roasts, pastas to grilled veg, a Barbera from Monferrato is one of our favourite go-tos. At their best – and we think that Sette’s expressions are easily amongst them – they provide both plush red and dark fruits, clean acidity, great richness of texture and, of course, some meat-loving tannins.
