An absolutely gorgeous drop from the rolling hills of southern Piedmont. Gianluigi Bergaglio founded this estate in 1946 and now, in the hands of his son Diego, it’s known as one of the benchmark producers working with the Gavi region’s indigenous grape Cortese. This wine is from one of their best vineyards, Minaia, which sits on a hill just behind their cellars, with vines sitting on perfect rocky soils and collecting the cool breezes from the Ligurian sea. Elegant and finely balanced, with subtle blossom and pure citrus and stone fruits, this wine is at home with seafood but does just as well as a thoughtful glass in the sun.
