2019 O'Leary Walker Nero D'Avola

This bombastic Sicilian grape is well-looked after by veteran winemakers David O’Leary and Nick Walker, the Clare Valley specialists who have been hand-crafting wines in the area for two decades. The grapes here are sourced from young vines in the Clare’s renowned Watervale sub region and it’s a classic take on Nero d’Avola – think dark flowers, generous blue fruits, fleshiness and just a lick of anise from oak. It’s vegan-friendly, too – so unsurprisingly would go with any manner of bright and fresh vegetarian meals.
