2016 Craiglee JADV Shiraz
~ Lifted & Spicy Shiraz
Flanked by border collies in the vineyard, ever understated, Craiglee’s Pat Carmody is part of the pioneering gang of Victorian old masters, that includes the likes of Ron Laughton, John Thomson and Nat White.
JADV refers to the use of the Rhône recipe of adding ‘just a dash of viognier’ to younger vine, though still formidable, Sunbury shiraz.
Using a more voluptuous Burgundy bottle rather than his typical straight sided models, Pat’s flourish gives aromatic lift as a young wine, but will also develop nicely with some time in the cellar.
