2017 Clemens Busch Kabinett Riesling
Gentle and softly spoken, deeply committed in his farming. Clemens Busch works the steep slopes of Marienburg around the middle-Mosel village of Pünderich.
Whilst further downstream from folks like Ernie Loosen and JJ Prüm, the slate inclines are no less sheer! In common with Reinhard Löwenstein, Clemens is a major proponent of biodynamic viticulture in the Mosel.
In a tricky vintage marred by early frosts, the 2017 estate dry riesling is beautifully elegant with lifted notes of honeysuckle, zesty grapefruit and peach. A wine with lovely weight and a tense briny finish.
