A sixth generation Barossan, Dan Standish is well travelled, having worked vintages in California, Spain and France.  His thoughtful approach to winemaking shows in each of these individual expressions.

Standish works across the Barossa floor and up into Eden Valley with old vine family owned plots (including his own Vine Vale plantings from 1912). Oak is kept to 20% French and whole bunches are used – adding dimension, spice and a complexing tannin.

He manages to coax out personality and charisma in his wines – a truly wonderful thing when combined with the richness, depth and detail of old vine Barossa fruit.
Though his wines are priced at the premium end, they haven’t reached the eye-watering stratospheric heights of Grange and Hill of Grace. Yet their quality puts them well within these pedigreed circles. And they are rarer.
