2014 The Islander Reserve Bark Hut Road
Founded by fifth generation winemaker Jacques Lurton, this Bordeaux born, part-time Australian resident, is one of the world’s most prolific flying winemakers.
Kangaroo Island’s horrific 2020 bushfires, saw the vines on this breathtaking 11 hectare property in the Kohinoor Hills decimated. If you’ve visited this magnificent island, you’ll understand why Jacques has vowed to rebuild from the ashes.
From an earlier time, close-planted, hand picked shiraz and cabernet franc are wild fermented in French oak, giving deep red colour with splashes of purple.
Fragrant dark berries and endless cassis seamlessly intertwine with a palate of firm detailed tannins.
Drink accompanied by some delicious Polpette Al Sugo.
